CAPTAINS' CLUB FEE WAIVED

I AM UPSET WITH THE NEWS REGARDING THE WAIVING OF THE FEE FOR THE CAPATAINS' CLUB.

IS THIS ANOTHER MARKETING PLOY TO ALLOW ALL RCI PAX TO TRANSFER THEIR CROWN AND ANCHOR POINTS? THE CC WAS THE ONLY CLUB TO CHARGE A FEE AND IT WAS THE ONLY CLUB TO OFFER REAL BENEFITS WHEN COMPARED TO THE OTHER LINES.

I EMAILED CELEBRITY CAPTAINS' CLUB AND TOLD THEM THAT I WAS DISPLEASED. I WOULD RECOMMEND OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.

CELEBRITY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE LINE THAT COMES CLOSEST TO UPHOLDING THE GREAT TRANSATLANTIC TRADITIONS OF CUNARD, HAPAG, CGT, ITALIAN LINES AND HAL WHEN THEY WERE "THE ONLY WAY TO CROSS".

LET CELEBRITY KNOW THAT WE WANT THEM TO KEEP THE BRAND SEPARATE FROM RCI AND MAINTAIN THEIR HIGH STANDARDS.

For the RCI Crown & Anchor, former Celebrity passengers couldn't apply, so I don't know why the RCI only passengers could apply for the Celebrity program. I think it's great they waived the fee. I think I'll go join, Celebrity was the 1st cruise line I went on!

Ross - this is the first I've heard of this. I just checked the celebrity website and the say the fee is $35. When did you get your information and where can I get detrails?

I just signed up for the CC and it still did say $35 when it gave you info about it on the site, but when you actually go to enroll it didn't ask for a credit card # or anything, so I am assuming there isn't a charge.

The fee ends June 1st. The CC newsletter being sent out now states that and also offers a $50.00 coupon for your next cruise up till Dec. There is a huge thread on the CruiseCritic board about this. JANZ
