Caribe Deck BB or take BF for better rate and unknown balcony Stateroom or possible upgrade????

Ok - I am booking our Cruise on the Caribbean Princess for July 31st and this is my first cruise. Do I book the BB or book the BF and hope to be upgraded or be happy with any balcony? The BF booking saves $300.

Thanks,

Suncat

Take the BB... the Caribe cabins are really nice, they have a much bigger balcony that is partly covered and partly exposed.

On the BB it is cabin 710 - I think that's near aft - Would you still take it?
Thanks!

I'm not crazy about the aft cabins... sometimes there's more noise and vibration back there... but a lot of people really like them. C710 is likely to be a better cabin than you'll get on a BF guarantee.

Haven't been on the Caribbean Princess, but have had aft BB cabins on the Golden and Grand...they are my favorite! Nice big balconies, they are partially covered, so you get some sun, some shade depending on the time of day. Go for it!

Have a great time!

Ok - Looks like I have quite a few votes for the BB/Aft. Hmmmmh??? I'm saving $500 by going the other way (BF). I'm going to get some kind of Balcony no matter what, it's my first cruise so I will not have anything to compare it to, and the TA says I have an 80% chance of an Upgrade - What now????

Thanks!

Worst case with the BF guarantee is you'll end up in a cabin with one of the smaller balconies... Best case is you'll end up on Caribe with the bigger balcony for the price of a BF. Don't bank on the upgrade; nobody, including you're travel agent can crack the secret code on those things... I've been with Princess 16 times, and the secret formula for when I get upgraded is still a mystery to me... You'll hear people say they booked an inside guarantee on their first cruise and ended up in a suite...

Sounds to me like you're really interested in saving the money... that being the case, take the BF ...those cabins are perfectly fine. Spend the $500 on the slot machines...

Personally, I don't take guarantees anymore because I don't like far forward or far aft, but it seems you don't care about that, so there's your answer.

It's your first cruise...you're going to love the whole thing no matter what.
