Have booked the new "Freedom" for a trip to the Greek isles on May 13Th. I am a little concerned that postings suggest that Carnival is a inferior line. I have only one trip on the Diamond Princess to compare. Can I gat a little feedback as to what I should expect re food, accomodations, or entertaiment. Is Princess much better? We picked this cruise becaues of the itinery. Thanks Gus.

Princess/Carnival--in fact most "mainstream" cruise lines--are relatively similar. You might prefer the decor on Princess to be superior. Then again, you may not. I could go on and on. To make a long story short...most cruiselines [with the exception of lines such as Crystal] are, within reason, similar.

FYI: I'm Princess "Platinum". My last five cruises...Carnival

We JUST completed a 7 night cruise on the Carnival Glory.
Don't listen to all the complainers that put fears in your head.
Our cruise was absolutely stunning in every way.
We went as far as to tip above and beyond our prepaid gratuities
because the service was so spectacular.
Go to enjoy yourself and you will enjoy yourself.
Go looking for what's wrong, and you deserve what you find.

Please don't listen to the negative comments! Some people are just never happy, no matter what they do! Carnival is a wonderful line and we've had a great time on all of our Carnival cruises. We've also cruised on RCCL and Norwegian and feel all 3 lines are comparable. I can't speak for Princess being that I've never sailed on that line. But I'm sure you will have a wonderful time on the Freedom. We had the best cruise ever last year on the Carnival Valor and I hope you'll feel the same about your upcoming cruise. We always go into our vacation with the mindset that we will have a great time and we always do!

And John Heald their top cruise director will be on board. He is dynamite. Truly involved in his job in every way. I saw him when the MIRACLE first sailed and have to say he was so entertaining, I am considering the FREEDOM.

Can't hardly wait for our Nov 12th on Freedom and glad to hear John Heald will be aboard. We met him and his wife once and he's just as charming off-stage as on. Love a new ship!

We took our first cruise on Carnaval last Spring, ship was very clean, well maintained, the food in the main dining I'd grade a B, not spectacular, but good. We liked it very much, and are now booked for Freedom's first Cruise March 5.

My wife cruised on Royal Carribbean last November, ship was dirty and run down, we had folks tell us that Royal Carribbean was nicer than Carnival, she did not find that to be the case.
