Your carry ons go through an Xray machine like at the airport. I've carried on alcohol in a backpack before with no problems but you have much more of a chance of them seeing it in your carry on luggage.With your checked baggage, when you arrive at the port, you give your luggage to a porter and they take it inside and you wont see it until later that evening. I always have alcohol in my checked luggage and have never had a problem. Dont mess with changing bottles or anything.
