The new Carnival Center for the Performing Arts opened Oct. 5. The new cultural arts complex includes a 2,400-seat opera house, a 2,200-seat concert hall, a 200-seat studio theater and an education center. The Carnival ship Imagination, docked near the center, sounded its horn to augment an orchestra heralding the center's debut. As a result of a multi-million-dollar contribution, Carnival Corp. secured naming rights for the new center.
