Carnival Changing the fantasy out of Mobile to the Elation

The Elation is simply an newer version of the Fantasy. Same class of ships. However, the Fantasy has already received its upgrade and the Elation has not. Most likely the Elation will receive its upgrade after the Winter Olympics and before it starts sailing from Mobile.

Unless Carnival cancels some scheduled cruises, this won't happen before May. The Elation has already received most of the EOF upgrades just not the water park. She still has a challenging waterslide at the main pool however. Actually, I consider the Elation an upgrade from the Fantasy; and she will get the water park as soon as it can be scheduled.

The Elation's last cruise prior to the Winter Olympics is Jan 18. The Winter Olympics does not begin until Feb 12. It is possible that the water park will be installed then. However, I do not know this as a fact.

Carnival's goal is to have the work done before the end of 2010. While it is sitting in Vancouver doing nothing would be a good time to do the work.

Well, the Elation arrived here in Mobile today and she still lacks all of the EOF upgrades. Doesn't bother me that much, but to some, this is problematic. Wish Carnival would let us know if and when these upgrades will be completed.

Well then, the only way it is going to get done now is to take the Elation out of service and install the waterworks upgrade. Who knows when that will happen.

I think I do. My sources tell me that the missing time between the 1/18 sailing and the Olympics is indeed a dry dock and that's when they plan to complete the upgrades on Elation.

I'm confused! The time frame to which you refer has come and gone.
