Good Afternoon Everyone -
I'm new to this forum and never been on a Carnival Cruise. I'm planning to cruise in Dec 07 on the Conquest with a group and I'm trying to decide on a Balcony Cabin or Cat 11. I'm not worried about the extra money if it's truly worth the difference. I know the difference is size which equates to about 65 more sq/ft. Your Thoughts for those that have experienced or seen both sized cabins?

I wouldn't worry as much if we were hitting a port every day but given this itinerary has me at sea for several days I want to feel comfortable also.

thanks,
Lisa

How much time will you spend in your cabin?

If you will spend more time in a balcony than a cat 8 is all you need.
If you spend more time inside the cabin then the bigger cabin is what you need.

Will you be arriving at the port early (say about 10:30-11am?)

if not --priorty boarding comes with that cat 11--its the only perk you get for booking it. But if getting to the pier at the above time priorty boarding is not needed.

this class ship has a 9A-- which will feature a huge wrap around balcony. the cabin is a tad bigger then the 8's and its cheaper then the 11

I booked a Cat 11 room on the aft of the ship with the wrap around balcony and everyone tells me that that is the most sought after cabin on the boat

HOneymooner...different class ship. You booked on a Spirit Class ship and the OP is sailing on a Conquest Class. Cabin layouts are a bit different on these two ships on the aft corners.

on the spirit class ship it is most highly sought after.

These cat 11 suites are the only ones broke down into sections where the sitting area is seperate from the sleeping area.

Unline other cat 11 where it is one bog room.

You made a good choice

We got off the Conquest yesterday, I miss it so much! My husband & I had a catagory 8 cabin w/ balcony. It was fine for the two of us. Our cabin # was 6216. We enjoyed the balcony, I love being out there as we come into port. My sister, her husband and 18 year old had a category 11. Their cabin was GORGEOUS! They had more room and a separate dressing area. It was very nice and I will upgrade to this next cruise. They only went out on her balcony twice! On this ship, you are in port 3 days in a row. Very hectic, very tiring. Jamaica was AWFUL, Hope this helps! Carol
