We stayed in room 8257 (I think) on the Conquest. It was directly across from the lifts and we loved it so much we booked it again the next year. Noise was never an issue. On the contrary, I believe that the rooms deeper in the corridors actually tunnel the sound somewhat. I totally agree with Mbandy - inconsiderate people will be themselves no matter where they are, just don't let them affect your cruise.
