I am taking my first cruise with Carnival this July. This website has left me in shock and wondering why this employee has created this website. Also, every person that I have spoken to regarding Carnival have raved about their cruise.

I commented on this topic in dannalee's other post about, so I will just paste answer here:

Don't worry about it. It's just a disgruntled employee. Hopefully x-employee. I wouldn't trust what is said there.

True, the Carnival employees work very hard for their money. But even the posters on that site admitt they make an awful lot of money for their labors, as compared to what they could ever earn at home. And that's only in absolute numbers. If you compare their earning in actual buying power, they are doing quite well. No need to feel sorry for them.

The distressing stories they mention in that blog, are just repeats of the kind of garbage you always hear about restaurants whenever someone wants to damage the restaurants reputation. It's disgusting, and who knows if that's true. But consider the source. I wouldn't trust a word that is said there when it's obvious the only motivation is a desire to damage Carnival. He probaly got fired, and wants to get back at Carnival.

And if he hasn't been fired yet, hopefully he will be soon.

Sadly, as with any huge corporation, you are going to have those who are unhappy. And just as sad, with the Internet being so available, anyone can post anything without having to prove they are telling the truth.

Is Carnival perfect? Of course not. But then neither is any other cruise line or business.

But Carnival has repeatedly given our family our money's worth. And as long as they do, we will continue to sail with them.

If the original blogger has so much more education and is worthy of so much more, then he (or she) needs to go find it and quit their complaining.

Granted, most of what you read on the internet is suspect, but what if just one little teeny tiny, itsy bitsy part of it is true? I bet you will look at all those smiling faces of the crew on your next cruise just a little bit differently. I will and I don't believe a word of it.

Our last waiter said two of his kids are now working for Carnival. I think that says a lot. Yes, I'm sure a good portion of it is the money they make. I didn't spend a lot of time at the site but I didn't buy what I saw. Just as in any organization...there are going to be some who don't care for what they do or who want to bad mouth the company.

We were in Cleopatra's Bar quite often to smoke and overheard Carnival employees in the room adjacent constantly griping about their jobs and the customers. Once they realized we were listening and apologized. I told them everyone gripes about their jobs. We spoke with one young man who said he's glad he signed on to see what it was like but stated he wouldn't do so again.
