Hi all
My family is booked on the Carnival destiny for August 13 2006......counting the days to the trip......I was wondering if anybody has a copy of the most recent carnival caper...... and the list of shore excursions with the price so I can start saving for the shore excursions.
Please let me know where I can find this information...... I know carnival's website has the list of shore excursions but they are vague in what the cost is....... looking for actually price to plan a budget for these trip
thank you in advance

You should be able to view the excursion prices. Go to www.carnival.com. If you just click on excursions from the main page, you'll just get the $ signs without specific pricing.

Our Carnival PVP told me to act like we were going to book the excursions without actually booking them. What you have to do is sign in and go to your cruise details. When you get to the screen that shows your cruise itinerary, click on the link that says something like "Book Excursions Now." You don't have to actually book the excursions, but you can look at the details and pricing. In addition, when the itinerary comes up, your ports should be underlined. If you click on a particular port, the excursions should come up with prices.

We're on the Valor in September, and weve starting looking into excursions and pricing.

By the way, we were on RCCL Adventure of the Seas and were in 2 ports with the Destiny last year. Nice ship!

Have fun!!

you can get prices without all that work-
go to carnivals web page- top right hand corner is MY PROFILE. click on that..and then add a booking number. Doing that will register your cruise on the front page of carnival.

If you click on cruise details-- it will now list the ports.. clicking on a port will show you the excursions that you can book on your cruise-- click on book now will show you the times and price etc.
you wont be charged til you put in your cc information.

But looking at the $- each $ denotes 50.00 or under. two $$ will be under 100, et.c.

I really liked the KON TIKI party boat excursion in St Thomas. The calypso music was very loud on the main deck and was more like background music on the upper deck. There was also unlimited rum punch. The Emcee claimed it was made with 151 proof rum, but I saw the bottles and it was not.
Great views of the harbor and nice stop at a secluded beach. No bathrooms on the beach, however.

On Aruba, it was nice to sit back on an air conditioned tour bus and tour the sights of the island. "winki" the driver was funny and endearing. Stop at Aloe factory was mostly about buying the cosmetics. Butterfly farm was so humid and still that I thought I was going to lose it. (but I was also somewhat hungover). But the sights along the coast and in the center of the island were amazing. It was fun to walk around Bushuribana, the ruins of the gold smelter and also at Natural Bridge (but I heard it collapsed recently).

I loved the Destiny Southern Caribbean itinerary!!!!!!

Hi nice to hear we just booked the Destiny for March 11 2007. My daughter is getting married July 15 and wanted a cruise honeymoon. So she is going to Maine in July and honeymoon 2 on the Destiny and has invited any and all who want to go. We are cruising the Liberty Apr 1 and I cannot believe I am looking forward to 2007 already.

Holy crap- are these excursions pricey or jsut me being cheap???

Coral world & magens bay for 55.00??? There are coupons for coral world online.
ticket prices are 18.00 for an adult $9 Children (3-12 years), $52 Family (2 adults and up to 4 children)

Taxis dont even cost that much to get to Magens bay..

---the areilt tram is 70 minuites long-- 99 bucks?? wow I only want to ride the thing not buy it.
i see that doing it ourselve will cost 75 bucks.. but that also includes admission to the park.

They had a medical emergency after leaving Aruba, and had to turn around, and head back to Aruba's port. (An elderly passenger broke her leg). When they returned to sea, they experienced a propulsion problem which delayed the arrival back in to San Juan.

I read some embarking passengers waited 10 hours before they were allowed to board.

They bandaged it enough for the next sailing, it should be fully repaired by the March 26th sailing.

I read that it's because of the rising cost of fuel. Cutting port times will saves them $$ because they wont have to push the throttle between ports to stay on schedule.

I totally agree with you there Serene56. Inspite of the fact that the Cruise lines has to make a profit by selling the tours, I think it is much to expensive. Doing these same tours with a private operator in the various ports costs you so much less, and you get value for money since they depend on word of mouth to continue the success of their business.

I know that for the Aerial Tram, you can pay US$ 75 a person and still get a tour of various sites for about US$ 30-35 a person. Inspite of the fear that some people have of the ship leaving without them, I have never known this to happen, because like I said earlier the operators depend on word of mouth for continued business. I suggest you do your home work on the various ports and book independently and save some money while having a wonderful time.

Here are some people that I can recommend for tours.

St. Thomas - Sunny Liston Tours - liston@sunnylistontours.com
Dominica - Fredos Tours - fredos40@hotmail.com or http://freddy536.tripod.com

You will have a great time with both of them. Happy Cruising.
