My first post, we were on the Freedom when 2 people were taken off, once at 3 am just off the Coast of Italy, and again 5 hours later in the Strait's between Italy and Sicily. We watched them tender a family off to shore with their luggage and a ships doctor. The care they appeared to received was great.
The Freedom is a great ship, we sailed the Mediterrian beginning in Rome and did 3 greek ports, 2 Turkey and 3 italian ports. The food was fair, the dining room service was slow, but John Heald was a riot. He had a morning call in show and always kept us informed of the goings on.
Since it was a new itineray, they were very cautious about the ports and pickpockets. We got off in every port and never had a problem. We were able to bring our own booze on in several ports and take it to our cabin. That saved us hundreds on our sign & sail account.
Would recommend the sailing, it was a bit long on the ship, but the ports made it very exciting.
