Good Morning all. I am heading on the Glory on 2/11/06. I was wondering if anybody has recently gone. I am doing the western Car cruise. I would appreciate any and all tips to make the cruise that much better. We are going with another couple and we are both around 30-32. Excursions, entertainment etc...all welcome.

Thanks
Peter

I guess I am not sure I understand the question. Better than what? If you are just looking for general info, if you go to the Reviews section of this site you can pull up all of the Glory reviews. I have one in there from 2004 and had a great time. The reviews section is the best place to get different view points and experiences on your ship. Also, the carnival forum here has a lot of recent threads on the ports on your Itinerary, excursion, etc. Happy reading!

Bring a microwave oven to heat your food. Just returned from the Glory 1/28 western sailing and in seven days I never got what I consider a hot meal. Food temperature is what I call luke warm (when it is set in front of you in the dining room, or pulled from the buffet line) - by the time you are 5 minutes into your meal it is basically room temperature.

FYI -- I've been on 7 Carnival Cruises, including the Glory in 2004, and about to leave on the Glory again this Saturday. Never has my food been luke warm.

Tip: when eating from a buffet, first walk around the buffet and look at what is offered and make some decisions about what you would like before even taking a plate. Next, make your cold food selections, i.e. salad bar, fruit, etc and take them to your table and eat them. After that, return to the buffet and serve yourself the hot foods that looked good to you when you scanned the buffet offerings earlier. Walking around with hot food on your plate trying to decide what to eat, OR leaving hot food on the table while eating your salad will surely result in luke warm or even cold food.

If you happen to have the experience of dining room food being cold -- send it back.
