Carnival Glory cabin question

Hey y'all!

Can anyone tell me what the obstruction is for cabin #2446 on Glory? We had a guarantee and were just assigned this cabin. I haven't been able to find a photo of the outside that shows this area!

Thanks!

What makes you think that there is an obstruction? Deck plans suggest that it is a normal standard ocean view cabin. The only thing different about it is that it is a connecting stateroom, meaning that there is a door to the adjoining cabin (2442) that could be accessed if you were traveling with friends in that cabin. I am not aware that any cabins on Main Deck have an obstructed view; the deck plans don not show any.

Hey Cruzman :wave

Look at the Carnival website at the deck plans for Main deck. The legend shows that the purple cabins are 6B. There are 4 cabins with yellow stripes...2446, 2450 on the port side and 2449, 2453 on the starboard side. These are listed as "Ocean View staterooms with obstructed views". That's why I asked.

Can you direct me to any photos of the aft section of Glory?

That's interesting! Got my information from cruisedeckplans.com and there is no mention of any obstructed view cabins on main deck. I've checked several other sites and the deck plans there agree. Carnival seems to be the only site that suggests an obstructed view. I have many pictures of the exterior of the ship, but I have not posted them on the internet. I cannot see anything on the ship's exterior that suggests any obstruction. I'm at a loss as to why Carnival is showing this.

Shipsbelle, I think I have solved the mystery. If you have observed, many tall buildings have permanently installed window washing stations that are mounted on tracks and traverse around the building on the exterior. The Glory has these and the normal "storage" (out of service) position for the device is on Main Deck aft; right about where your cabin is. I will bet that that is your obstruction.

Thanks Cruzman! That's probably it. I can't think of anything else that it could be, either....especially since it's not that readily visible just looking at the long view pictures of Glory.

Thanks again! :thumb
