Hi
I need a little info on the Carnival Glory if you guys could help. This is my 2nd cruise and we’re going on the Glory Apr. 29 for our 20th anniversary. I have been on 1 other cruise and that was 5 years ago on the Jubilee. We had a great time. I’ve done lots of research and feel pretty good about all I’ve learned. We booked a sweet this time and I’m wondering about them. What kind of shore excursions are really good in the Eastern Caribbean? Are the Jacuzzi tubs in the suites large? I’m visually impaired but my husband is sighted. Anything I should know that may help me get around the ship? I’m sorry for such a long post but I am just in need of a little help. Thanks in advance.

The jucuzzi tub is a small bath tub with jets on it.

What kind of stuff do you like to do? water stuff-land stuff.

We used www.godfreytoursvi.com which is 25.00 pp and we got to do it all-- shopping, whole island tour, swimming etc. best deal for my monies

Thanks for the tub answer. As far as stuff we might like to do, I’ve looked into the dolphin swim in Nassau. I’ve always wanted to do that. We like to gamble, water stuff, and of course I love to shop! Do you think St. Thomas or St Maarten is best for shopping?

We will be on the Glory 4/15 sailing so I can answer specific questions when I return; however, let me address the shopping question. St Thomas and St Maarten are two of the very best places to shop in the Caribbean. You will get different opinions as to which port is better, but suffice it to say they are both great places to shop! Do not be afraid to barter; they expect that. Last time we were in St Maarten, I bought my daughter a pink topaz ring mounted in 18 carat gold; asking price $160, paid $85. Best booze prices I have found is at the Kmart in St Thomas; unbelievable prices! As for gambling, check out the casino on Paradise Island in Nassau. It's touted to be one of the world's largest. I agree with Serene about Godfrey tours in St Thomas; great tour for the price and includes time for shopping, sight seeing and beach time. We have privately booked the Lord Sheffield Tall ship tour in St Maarten. It is highly recommended from what I have read. I will post a review after we return 4//22.

I cannot provide any insight into excursions in the Eastern Caribbean, as the April 29 sailing of the Carnival Glory will be my first Eastern Caribbean cruise.

We are sailing for the second time on the Glory in Oct. 2006 doing a back-to-back..Eastern and Western. You mentioned doing the Lord Sheffield Tall ship tour in St. Maarten. What is this and do you have a web site that would have information on it? Thanks

Gwen, try www.stmaarten-shoretrips.com. They have an online catalog of all the shore tours that they sponser. Be aware however, that if you book with them, they immediately charge your credit card; makes me a little nervous but I have read no complaints.
