Carnival Legend and irons

OK--I am pretty sure Carnival Legend has laundry facilities that include irons. I am having trouble locating them on the deck plans. I will be on the Empress deck. I am just trying to decide if I can avoid bring the steamer.

So, can you confirm that there are irons and what is the location? Do you think I should leave the steamer at home? I hate that thing anyway.

Thanks!

Irons and steamers are fire hazards, you would not be allowed to bring those onboard. I can not guarantee there are irons in the laundry facilities but I can guarantee that there are washers and driers in there. If you really needed your clothes ironed and pressed, you can pay a small fee and your cabin steward will take care of that, however, I don't think they want the passengers playing with those devices!

From Carnival's website:

Can I wash my clothes while on board?

Self-Service Launderettes

Each ship has at least 2 self-service launderettes located on the stateroom decks.

There are two or three washers and dryers, and one iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.00 per box.

Note: Due to local environmental requirements, the washing machines in the guest' launderette will be closed in port, per each ports specific requirements; the dryers and irons will be available for guest use.

I know that these things are fire hazards and cannot be brought on board. I am specifically asking about the facilities located on the Carnival Legend. Basically, are they usually crowded, out of service, etc. They would not provide them if they did not intend for passengers to use them.

So, I am looking for anyone's experience who has used these facilities.

Oh well in that case... I can tell you that they aren't usually crowded, but by the end of the cruise most washers will be taken as many people do opt to clean their clothes before packing up and going home... if you use the facilities sometime in the middle of the cruise, it should not be a problem.

It's specifically states that EACH ship has at least two....so I'm sure they are there. I know we've seen them on a good number of ships. Perhaps they don't show them on the deck plan because they aren't always in the same location on each ship. Or they might be in the blank area by the rear elevators - but that's just a guess. Ask your room steward where it is once you get there.

I use to take my iron but the last few times I really haven't had to use it. We've been on 12 cruises and only once have I seem someone actually doing laundry. One other time I saw someone ironing.....if I recall correctly that was the day of the formal dinner. You might want to iron prior to that day just to avoid a possible wait.

Each class ship does have laundry rooms. Laundry rooms are in the same place on each class.
Since you asked specifically bout the Legend.
You wont see it on the deck plan. On deck 5 across the hall from 5268 is a laundry room.
There is one every other deck-- msot are aft--some is forward-- one is midship. You will see all listed on the map they give you when you board.

Formal nights will be very crowded as a lot of people want to use the iron to get wrinkles out of their clothes.

You do not want to use these rooms on formal nights.

another time they are crowded is right after a port where people want to use the dryers to dry their bathing suits.

I find if I go to the laundry facilities right after breakfast to do my clothing for that evening it is never croweded. The closer you get to dinner hour the more croweded it is.

We just returned from the Carnival Legend. The iron and ironing board is easy to get to and rarely used.
