Has anyone any information on the Carnival Mastercard. Can you use it to get $$$$$$$$ off of your next cruise, and how does it work.

if its thru capital one, you earn points for every dollar you spend, and those points you can use towards a future cruises. you have to earn alot of points for free or discounted cruises. for more info call carnival

I have the CapitalOne credit card and use it every chance I can. I have found it to be more worthwhile to accumulate the points toward money off rather than a free cruise. The free cruises are limited in their sailings and cabin categories.

It takes $23,000 to earn $500 off a cruise , or go to $46,000 for a $1,000 certificate. I have already used a $500 cert. and have enough points for another one, but will probably let it ride up to $1,000. You have 5 years to accumulate points. The key is to use it for everything possible. I have only had mine for 2 1/2 yrs. I always pay it off at the end of each month so they are, in effect, paying me to cruise.

There are also other uses for the points, such as upgrades, fruit baskets, etc.

I too have the Carnival Mastercard, have been using it for years now. It does take a long time and a lot of money spent to earn one point on the dollar. I think I have a good idea of what they should do.. and that is if they pay one point on the dollar, they should pay 3 points on the dollar when you charge anything for Carnival Cruises. Can you imagine the points you can earn when you get the sign and sail bill? Actually I have another credit card for a hotel, and they pay 3 points on the dollar when used on hotel bills. It is a nice incentive.
