Carnival Platinum Guests?

On Carnival's website, under VIP checkin, reference is made to "platinum guests". Does anyone know what a platinum guest is and are there any other perks associated with platinum membership?

You're "platinum" if you've sailed on 10+ Carnival cruises. Perks include a CCL "logo item"/chocolate covered strawberries [or something similar] one night/VIP check-in/free laundry service. All the "perks" are from a CCL "press release"....and are subject to change.

Even if your documents don't say VIP Check In (on the front of your documents under/above your name) and you know you are Platinum...go on to the VIP Check In. Some of the documents that went out in February and March failed to have the VIP Check In on them (like ours on the Pride) and we had no problem using the VIP Check In service!

This is the list I saw:

Platinum
(starting on your 10th cruise)

1. VIP Check In (used to be called the Skippers Club.)
2. Priority tendering (just show them your platinum card...no need for tender tickets.
3. Free wash and fold Laundry service.
4. Personalized stationery
5. Canapes and Petit fours on formal nights.
6. Free $20 entry fee into the slots or blackjack tournament.
7. Priority debarkation (complete with a room to wait in with coffee and Danish.)
8. Free Tote Bag

We just got off the Glory yesterday. We have been on 16 Carnival cruises, so we are " Platinum ".
It's pretty much as SandyBeach said. There is a private room for check in. a special place at the pursers desk for platinum members, so you don't have to wait in the lines, priority tendering, etc. The biggest thing was disembarkation. The last night we were given special platinum colored luggage tags and a letter stating to meet in the main lobby no later than 7: 10 a.m.
They had a section set aside for platinum members and after about a 20 minute wait, a crew person came and got us and away we went. Downstairs, the luggage was in a special place which made it so easy to find. I spotted mine before we were even down the stairs. We were in the car and on the way by 7: 50 a.m.
Even if there were no other perks, that alone would be enough.

Everyone on your documents go with the wife....hubby, children etc.

Fortunately, Hubby, myself and both boys are Platinum. So the boys will have these perks the rest of their lives. Youngest is now 15.
