Has anyone sailed on the Carnival Pride recently? My two daughters and I will be sailing on 9/7 to the Mexican Riviera, so I was wondering if anyone else has been on this cruise. Any comments would be appreciated.

My husband and I were on the Pride in June. This was our 4th Carnival Cruise. Did you have a specific question? The only thing I noticed different on this cruise was that the food in the dining room didn't seem to be as good as the previous cruises. On the formal night I was a little disappointed with the lobster dinner. I was spoiled on the rock lobster tails and now they're the small lobster tails! It could be a sign of the economy! Could be that this ship was a little smaller than the Conquest & Glory and the menu is sized down! Who knows. Some of the choices on the menu are the same each night as I suppose many people have favorites they would like to have again and again. We've never dined in the restaurant that requires reservations. We should've checked that out. The price of that dinner was more reasonable than first thought. I believe someone told us it was $30 per person. One thing I DID like was that you are now allowed to wear shorts (no cut-offs) and jeans in the dining room! I wouldn't have had to pack near as many clothes had I known that! I was wondering if it was just exclusive to this ship but I checked the web-site a few days ago and the change was there also! WOO! Oh one more thing...it was pretty chilly on deck some days it was cloudy. I don't know if it was the norm or what. The water in Puerto Vallarta was a bit chilly but not NEAR as cold as Cabo. We did a snorkel excursion in Cabo. There were about 50 or so people going to snorkel on this catamaran and only about 15 or so snorkeled because it was FREEZING! We forced ourselves to snorkel...you get used to it after a while! Again...don't know if that's the norm! Have fun on your cruise!

We just debarked off the Pride last Sunday. Loved it!! We (family of 2 parents and 3 kids) were first time cruisers so didn't really know what to expect but we reallly loved being on the ship. The decor was beautiful, the food was just great and the the shows were, for the most part, super! The dancers put on a magnificent show and we really enjoyed JeRome, the comedian. (esp his late night, x-rated adult show... very rude and very fiunny!) If you have any questions feel free to ask. We were very satisfied with our experience and would definitely cruse on the Pride again!

Love Pride! This was our very first cruise in 2005. We loved it so much, we went again in March this year. Don't know how old your kids are, but if they are tall enough to go down the slide, do it! This 50 something did. Total blast, but it can get really windy up there. We just had to sail Pride one more time before it went to the east coast.

Enjoy!

So with 2 adults and 3 kids, may I ask what size room you had and how the sleeping went? What ages are the kids?

Thanks,
Julie

Julie,

The LARGEST cabin on that ship (the category 12 Penthouse) is only 300 sq ft and that counts the closet space and bathroom. When you do the math, that's 60 sq ft. per person. Makes me chlostrophobic just thinking about it. Regular sized cabins are 185 sq ft. With five in a cabin like that it would be about 37 sq ft par person. Can we say sardine can? :lol

I wouldn't do it on a bet.

I was on the Pride for Halloween with my travel chum (we are females, Boomer age). It was a wonderful cruise at a very good price. We had a balcony cabin and we have no problem with the size of the cabins on Carnival but we are not concerned with cabin size as much as we are service. We found the service on the Pride very good, the meals in the dining room were fine for us, again we are not picky, we eat better on-board than we do at home! The buffet was closed more than on say Princess and it was difficult to find a variety/options for snacks at times so we got some cookies and fruit from the buffet when it was open and took them to our room for later. The ship was decorated for Halloween and they had a haunted house for adults only which was very fun and well done, there were many in costumes, shows and parties, it was great. We are planning on going on this cruise next Halloween on Carnival, it won't be on the Pride as they are moving it but whatever ship they bring in, I think it will be the Splendor, we will most likely be on it. It was my 22 nd cruise and my cabin mates 35th cruise. I also love the ports on this run, P.V. is my favorite; I went to Las Caletas Beach and it was fantastic!

Hi Carol CA, I was also on the Carnival Pride for Halloween Oct.27th,08. My roomie and I had a great time!!!

I have cruised three times on the Carnival Pride and loved it.!!

I plan to cruise again for Halloween 09, on the New Ship Carnival Splendor out of Long Beach. I am truly looking foreward to cruising again out of Long Beach for HALLOWEEN CRUISE. Carnival ships are the best for Halloween. The costumes that people wear are fantastic.

Carol, Do you live in Calif.? I live in Glendale, Calif. Lucy

Has anyone sailed on the Pride since it went to the Eastern caribbean. How is the Baltimore port and where do you park your car if you are driving? I am a first time cruiser going on the June 6 sail of the Pride with my family.
