What do you think of the private island that Carnival takes its passengers to on the Eastern Caribbean trip? We are going in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering wether to get off there or just day on board and enjoy the ship. Also do they charge a fee to get off as Princess does at its private island?

If Carnival has a private stop, thats news to me. And Princess has never charged a fee to "get off" the ship at their private island. There are, however, rental fees for things such as snorkel equipment, floats, jetskiis, etc. Even lunch is free.

The two private islands that Carnival is usin on its Eastern itinerary are Half Moon Cay an Salt Cay. Neither one has a fee attached but as mentioned, sports equipment, floats, fins, jet ski's etc. are all available for a fee. If you don't want to tender over to the island, of course you can stay and relax on board. If you ship docks at Nassau, you can get off and take a taxi wherever you wish to explore. Atlantis is great if you have never been to this resort.
