Well as someone who is in a similar situation as an aforementioned person in the last post... Let me say I WISH I had gotten the insurance... Things happen that you never think will... In my case... I am a bride-to-be who has arranged to have her wedding onboard Carnival Freedom on Sept 4, 2011... My future sister-in-law (a pro when it comes to cruising) advised me to get insurance because I already have a pre existing condition... Turns out I waited too long and was no longer qualified to get that particular insurance... And dumb me scoffed at getting the other insurance thinking foolishly that nothing was going to happen... Three weeks ago I took a spill and broke my knee very badly... It required surgery and my doctor assures me that come cruise time I should be able to walk onboard that ship...get married...and have a wonderful honeymoon... But I'm still worried... Am working twice as hard with my physical therapist to insure that I can do just that... Get the insurance!
