Hi, you'll have to let me know how this cruise goes. I'm thinking about booking it for next year. I'm a little worried about flying to Puerto Rico. Only have done 1 other cruise (which I LOVED) and flew from PA to FL and ported there. Like the 5 port stops with this one instead of just 3.

Did the Sunny Liston Tour in St. Thomas (probably one of the BEST things on my trip). Booked online at www.sunnylistontours.com ahead of time....very inexpensive at $25-30. It was a tour of the island, shopping, and the beach. You can't miss this one!

Six ports in six days! I was not fond of the five ports in six days on the Serenade. There is not much time to relax on a cruise as port intensive as this.

chellekell...flying into San Juan isn't that bad. The airport is fairly nice. They are a tad more laid back so things don't move as quickly as we are used to here...but other than that it wasn't a bad experience. We've flown into SJ twice now.
If you have the extra vacation time I'd like to suggest you fly in a day early and stay at a hotel just to be on the safe side.
Otherwise, you do have all day to get there....just take into consideration the time of year you will be traveling - will there be weather problems at the airports, etc.

This cruise is one where you don't get to relax much. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It's all in what you like. We loved the ports although we stopped in the Dominican Republic instead of St. Kitts. We tend to do Carnival excursions. We're a bit older now and like not having to worry about getting back to the ship on time as most of the time Carnival will wait for all it's excursion people to return before leaving - not so with those who go out on their own. (If you choose the latter...please keep on ship's time and not the time of the port city.)

If you arrive in San Juan early on the day you leave, you can check in around noon have a bite of lunch on the Lido deck, leave your carryons in your cabin and head out to walk around in Old San Juan. (Basically where the ship is docked.)
If I remember correctly there is a tourist information building to the left of the cruise ships as you leave the dock.
Make sure you take what you need to get back on board ship when it's time to go back!

In St. Thomas we visited Paradise Point, Magen's Bay and Coral World. One other time we took an excursion over to St. John's and snorkeled at Trunk Bay. Both bays are beautiful.

In Dominica the first time we visited Trafalgar Falls and the Emerald Pool. The second time we did Carnival's Rainforest Aerial Tram...this was spectacular and so quiet. Amazing scenery, too.

In Barbados we took the Coast to Coast tour. Often times we do an overall island - or see as much as possible at once - excursion just to get a taste of what the culture is like. The second time we'll try something different if we return. We haven't had the opportunity to return here yet.

St. Lucia is beautiful. We did an off road excursion our first time there, but we had a driver. There were six or eight of us in the back and several vehicles in the group. It was a great excursion but I don't see it listed anymore. We've also visited Marigot Bay.

Lastly, we did the best of Antigua. We've yet to be totally disatisfied with a Carnival excursion...but it really depends on what you enjoy doing. We aren't normally "beach people".

I think you'll find more information on your ports if you go up to the top of the page where it says "forums" and select Port Information.
