The Carnival Victory is a great ship especially for a first cruise. The majority of the lounges along with the casino are on deck 5. The pools, buffet, pizza, ice cream, chinese food and deli are on deck 9. Only one of the dining rooms are fairly easy to get to through the atrium unless they are taking pictures. Otherwise you must go up and down stairs or wait for elevators to get access to the main dining rooms. If interested the internet cafe is next to the cigar smokers lounge on deck 4 aft.

Best advice is to let the crew do their job and take care of you and you will have a great time. There is to many things to do onboard so just focus on a few things you really like and make the best of it.

jjax,

We are booked on Carnival Victory for next September 2004 fall foilage cruise.

We will be sailing out of New York to Canada. Our ports will be Boston, Portland, St. John & Hailfax.

I know it's early but, we are trying to gather all information we can about the ports we will be visiting and the Carnival Victory.

So please by all means come back and leave a review when you return from your vacation.

If you would like feel free to email us.

Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy every minute to the fullest.

Thanks

We are booked on the Victory for September 20th. My sister and I are going and have gotten into several of these cruise sites. Try the Cruise Critic as well. We have found that it's better to book your excursions on your own and not through the ship.

The HipHop bus in Halifax and Murphy's Whale Watching are recommended in Halifax. Sydney also has two whale watching outfits. I found that by going into each port's respective website was very helpful such as Boston, Portland, Halifax and Sydney.

They each have a chamber of commerce as well. Cabot's Trail up in Sydney they say is a must see. I didn't find too much else to do up in Sydney.

Boston's Freedom Trail they say is a must see. You can take a trolley where you pay one price and can get on and off as much as you wish.

Hope this helps and have a nice trip.
