CARNIVAL's NEW LOYALTY PROGRAM

CCLfunfleet.jpg This is a photo I found on the internet regarding discussion I have on the forum about the new loyalty program kicking some time mid 12. Carnival will not give me many details, but it looks as if those of us with 8 cruises, booked on 2 more, who have been trying to reach platinum may, have to go back down the ladder a bit. I am not extremely pleased about. Any input would be appreciated.... Just click on the image to enlarge it..

Right now we can only speculate. There's no info in the image on what earns a "point," so I'm not sure why you think you would "go back down the ladder." Besides, there is good reason to believe that past guests who are close to/already achieved platinum status will be grandfathered into whatever new program that comes out,
I've been following John Heald's blog and FB posts, he has indicated more than once that the new program will take current status into consideration and will make the majority of guests happy.
Again, though, all we can do is wait and see. The release of new program might even be delayed until after you achieve platinum status.

current status = if you are Platinum but have not reached your points you will stay Platinum, Milestone if you are already Milestone and have not reached 225+ points. Don't see them giving cruises or points to people that have not reached Platinum or Milestone because they are short cruises vs points. I have been Milestone for 3 years and still only have 213 days. I expect to go to Mardi Gras status because I have reached Milestone. His statement is you will not lose your status because you don't have the required points with the new system, if you are short 1 or 2 cruises from Platinum/Milestone you will fall into the new system. As it should be, why shoud people be rewarded status they did not reach with the old system and other people did. Sort of a slap n the face to the people that reached the status the old way not just got close to it. JMO what will happen from what I read.

I am also a Milestone member, having completed my 30th Carnival cruise this past December. Like PA Duthchman, I am just short of the 225 days required to be Milestone (Mardi Gras) under the new system. From what I have read, I'm not worried about being bumped back to Platinum since it appears that everyone will be "grandfathered" into their current level. As for those who are "close", I would have no problem with those that have their 10th or 25th cruise booked, and eventually paid for, when the new program kicks in, reaching Platinum or Milestone status on those cruises. I would think that would be fair.

Yep I agree that would be fair. Its funny how many cruises you must take to hit 225 days. We only did 2 5 day cruises out of 30 and have not hit 225 days. What bits me is we get nothing after the 25th cruise and only got $300 ea OBC and still paid the same price for the cruise as anybody else for the 25th cruise. Now we are back to the same perks that someone who has 10 cruises gets. We only get a white card that only a few people on the ship know what it is for. When the CD on the Pride saw we were Milestone I told her this card and $1.39 will get me a cup of coffee. Didn't get a answer from her. But we love cruiseing on Carnival one day maybe we will get something exter from Platinum for being milestone. The best deal from Carnival is the Players club cruise you get invited to I just got $1300 for casino cash on the Pride we don't ever pass those up.

My understanding from the snippets from John Heald is that current levels will be grandfathered in. Now for those approaching a certain level he has hinted we would be taken care of. Not sure I'd take that to the bank. I am Platinum approaching Milestone under the current system. Also, I have not seen that particular photo before. The one I saw had the names the same as now with just different points listed. Good luck to us all.

When ever they go to the new system If you have 9 cruises and have the 10th booked you may make platinum under the old system and if you have 24 cruises and 25th booked you should make milestone, other then that you go with the new days system and fall in wherever. We go on our 30th cruise with Carnival in may and still only have 213 days and need 224 days.Thats with only 1, 5 day and 1, 6 day the rest are 7, 8 and 12 days cruises.

I just booked my 9th carnival cruise today on the Breeze for March 2013. I am so looking forward to becoming a platinum member. Any suggestions how I can get "grandfathered" in under the current system?

I have not seen that information before. Guess I won't make Milestone then. Because I am going on 21st next week and only have the 22nd booked.:(
