Getting ready for my 1st cruise and having some last minute packing issues... I'm booked on a 7 night cruise on Freedom of the Seas and need to know if I can pack my own Red Bull or other specialty drinks (all non alcoholic) for the trip. Not necessarily trying to be cheap here but I'm a little picky when it comes to beverages; Fuze, Propel and Red Bull to name a few. Plain water everyday will get boring..
Any other insider tips will be greatly appreciated!

Sodas are not allowed as carry on, so I doubt that such would be allowed either. Call RCCI and ask. Would hate for you to have to throw it away at the pier. RCCI does offer refillable soda souvenir cups. There is a general store in the Promenade. Hey, unfortunately, they are out to make $$$$, too! We did buy plastic bottled sodas while out on the islands and carried opened ones back on and that was okay. Good Luck! Have Fun! Will be taking my second RCCI cruise in February and celebrating my 50th birthday in Barbados!

Our cruise on the Freedom of the Seas was this past December. They have plenty to drink on the ship. In the Windjammer they had; lemonade, iced tea, guava juice, orange juice, apple juice, water. Of course all your hot drinks as well. It was the same in the dining room. My kids got the soda package.

I know you cannot bring on any bottles of anything unopened.

The drinks at the general store and places like that are very very expensive. I would make due with the ships drinks and then when you port you can find something you like to treat yourself with.

Have a great time, you are going to love the ship.

Stick a few cans in your check in bags at the curb. The porters take put it in a a huge wire container, use a forklift and it gets loaded on board. Whats the chances anyone is going to look in your bags. Has never happened to me.

We sailed last March with all of our grown kids and some of their friends. tThey are all in college. They took on enough drinks of various kinds to start their own store. Our oldest daughter only drinks Root Beer and my youngest son likes Red Bull. They each purchased a soft sided ice chest at Walmart and filled it up. They look like another piece of luggage and it can either be sent ahead or carried on. These also came in handy when we went to the beach and the pool. Saved a little money too!

We taken several other cruises and have one planned mid-March. We always purchase one soft drink card and just share it, too.
They have lots to drink for free - tea, lemonade, and juice.

I love Dr Pepper and I'm sure I drink too many of them so this is my way to cut back.

Have fun!

I've read on here of people bringing cases of water or soda to the pier and having the porters stick a luggage tag right on them. Haven't tried it myself. We took a 12 pack of bottled water onboard the Caribbean Princess a few years ago. We were thinking of taking some with us in June on the LOS.
