What type of experience is everyone having when the Millie stops at the Domican Republic Casa De Campo(sorry for the spelling). Is it worth the bus ride in or should we stay on the ship. I thought maybe it was like NCL private island where they had a bar-b-que, snorkling ect.. Whats your take on it. Thanks.

I thought I had left this message for you before but I guess it was not posted. There have been many complaints and negative feed-back about the Milennium stop in Casa de Campo. This is not the private island originally described. That was Catalina Island. The port has been changed and the Millenium arrives in Casa de Campo at 3PM. Passengers who were on the January 5 sailing reported terrible experiences. The Celebrity crew knew nothing about the port, busses were over-crowded with long waits, ship shuttles left people off at the wrong place and they had to take cabs back to the ship, most of the excursions were cancelled and there was little to do unless you want to go horseback riding. No barbeque, snokeling, etc. The general consensus was to stay on the ship.
We are booked on the Feb.2 sailing and Celebrity Customer relations have no information and are not even aware that the port was changed. Sorry to be so negative. You might want to check the Cruise Critic message board to see what others have to say under the heading of Casa de Campo cancelled excursions. I hope this has been of help.
