Has anyone booked a catagory 12 suite on the Sensation? I was looking at the deck plans and it seems Cat 12 is on a pretty low deck. It's supposed to have huge balconies and a 300sq Ft. cabin.

If anyone has any info on this. Please respond.
Thanks.

We went in May of this year on the Carnival Sensation. We booked a Cat.11 Demi-Suite but, was upgraded 2 weeks before the cruise to Cat. 12. Suite.

The Cat. 12, Suites are all on the Upper Deck which averages out to be about mid ship. The balconies are large. They have a lounge chair, table and 2 regular chairs. Very nice, we spent a lot of time out there and enjoyed the private time and quite besides. Very relaxing for us baby boomers. Very good ride on that level of the ship. We were also mid ship with the cabin as well.

The cabin itself is very nice , we had two beds that you can have room steward to push together to make full or queen can't remember . There was a large curved sofa, coffee table on one side and 2 chairs and a table on the other side.
Large vanity with 3 or four drawers on each side , outlets also there for your hair dryer etc. One thing that I didn't notice until the day before our cruise was over was that, (well lets see) if you standing in front of the vanity and looking in the mirror there are the main, middle mirror and 2 small ones on the sides, the small mirror on your right side as your facing the vanity has storage shevles, just pull it open. Like I said we didn't realize it opened until our cruise was ending.

The closet is walk in with the safe and about 4 shevles and two places to hang your clothes. on one side is like for long things like your formal wear, and the other side is like for shirts and pants. Also plenty of room for your luggage, that is if you don't a boat load.

The bathroom has a good size vanity as well with storage shelve there as well to . You'll have as well a basket of goodies, like shampoo, lotion , soap , razor , etc. "It's FREE"

Hope this helps some if you would like any other info please feel free to email us.

You can also check the web for pictures of the ship and cabins . On your search engine just type in vacation cruise ship pictures or photos. Alos go on carnvial cruise web site they now have virtual picture tours of the ships. Also you can go to WebShots web site and go to search and see everyone's vacation pictures and some have pictures of there cabins. Also Click the link here at Criuse Addicts (photo gallery) and search for Sensation or Carnival Sensation.

One thing else, with a cat 12 you are enrolled in the Skippers Club. this allows you to check in a lot faster. at the New orleans and Miami port they have a office to go to that takes care of all your paperwork. You are then taken to get your cabin key and than to the ship. No waiting in lines.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. We're already in the Skipper's Club having sailed the Fantasy a few times at Cat 11. I generally like the Cat 11 demi-suite because it's a higher deck, but the balcony is so small.

I just couldn't imagine the Cat 12 being on a deck so low, or does it just seem that way?

How far above the water is the Upper Deck?

There are 7 deck above the Upper Deck. the deck below is the empress deck where the shore excurison deck and pursers deck and photo gallerys are which really makes it quite handy, kinda the main lobby. Don't worry it's plenty high up out of the water. All deck are even the bottom deck.

You will go up 2 deck for your dining rooms and Lounge where the shows are.

We were as well in the skipper club, but it's not all that great. You do get to board with the first group if you get there in time like before 12 noon. But it's with all the other people. There is a desk that they will direct you to for your sign in which is quicker and you don't have to stand in the longer lines. Just have your documents filled out and that part is a breeze and does save a lot of time, other than that , thats about all there is to the skippers club. The night before we were to dock to get of the ship I ask what we need to do to for the skippers club to get of first. They told me just want for our color to be called which was the same color and everyone else on the upper deck.

Thanks for the info. I don't mind not getting off the ship first as I drive to the port and really rather would wait till the throngs get off. I've never sailed out of Tampa though, although I have sailed out of Port Manatee on the old Regal Empress.

Isn't the Tampa Port near the Tampa Seaquarium?
