I have 3 Carnival Cruises booked over the next 9 months (traveling alone) and all of them are in a category 1A cabin. I was wondering if anyone has ever received an updgrade from Carnival when booking a 1A???

Thanks!!

I cruise alone quite a bit....... and often book a 1A even when sailing with friends who are in other cabins. I have ALWAYS been upgraded when I took the 1A guarantee...... but when I can choose a good 1A, like on CCL Liberty -
cabin 7345 on Empress Deck is a 1A - then I will book the actual cabin, and of course they do not upgrade
when you choose a cabin...

with the 1A guarantee, you get where ever they feel like putting you......however most times, I have
gotten really good locations - I have cruised Carnival over 20 times, so I assume that has something to do
with the good upgrade..

Thanks Barb! I actually have booked cabin 7345 on the Liberty in December. I'm staying aboard for 2 weeks and on the second week I have booked cabin 6393 (right below 7345). I figured I would be better off booking those cabins, because from looking at the deck plans they appeared a little larger than a typical 1A.

Does 7345 just have one bed in it? Not that it matters....but I'm just curious. LOL :)

Thanks again for your help!

P.S. Just booked my 8th cruise in 18 months. =docdance RCI-Independence of the Seas, 13 day Transatlantic on 4/12/09.....woohooo!!!!

Yes, there is only one single bed.....but a bunk can come down out of the ceiling.......the room is HUGE......
seems even bigger than a double....

I had booked 7345 for back to back cruises on Sept. 13 and Sept. 20 this fall. and then my sister
decided to go the first week with me....... So we tried to get them to agree to put a 2nd bed (even
a roll away bed) in there. Even talked to a supervisor.....but they said it was impossible (RIGHT!!)

so.......I had to switch out to the cabin next door (which is a double) for the first week.......and then
when she and my other friends disembark at the end of the first week.....I will wave goodbye.....Ha!!!
and move next door to 7345........

would've been nicer to stay in the same room both weeks, but .....oh well..

I sailed this ship last year and had a balcony cabin..... its a good ship and I enjoyed it

Hey Brian,

Have you ever thought about working on a cruise ship? It's probably much cheaper than all those cruises you have booked. I'm just jealous-that's all. I hope you enjoy everyone of them!!!

Thanks! I will definitely enjoy them...that's a guarantee!!!

As for working on a cruise ship...hmmmm.....maybe I should think about that...LOL

Nah...I've got a great job and like what I do...fortunately it allows me the opportunity to keep taking great cruises (the fact that I'm single and don't have kids helps the wallet too!) :)
