Well I think the B is for balcony, since the balcony cabins all start with
B, then the suites all start with A.
I',m hoping someone else gives a better answer!!

The BD cabins are midship on the Baja deck and fore and aft on the Aloha deck. The balconies are private, but smaller than those on the Caribe deck. They usually have 2 chairs and a table on balconies that size. The Baja deck is inbetween two passenger decks. The Aloha deck is below the Lido. My inlaws had A702 last year and never complained of any noise. We had a BA on the Lido deck that time and it was great!

I wouldn't hesitate on either location!

I don't know, but I do wonder what the initials after the categories mean...

Ahoy Tanlamb :)

All cabins on the Aloha Deck have an A preceeding the number.
All cabins on the Baja Deck have a B preceeding the number.
All cabins onthe Caribe Deck have a C precedding the number, etc.

The second letter behind the deck letter are used to designate
the category of the cabin on that deck.. The choice cabins are midship and
the others are either fore or aft. On the Golden Princess, Category BD are
located midship on Baja Deck. Category BA are located on Lido and
Caribe Decks. Category BB are located on the Aloha, Caribe, Dolphin
and Emerald Decks. Each category has a different price range.
The suites have a letter, number and name such as Grand Suite. etc.

Here's wishing you fair skies and calm seas on all of your cruises.

BD on the Golden are the Fore & Aft balcony cabins on Baja deck. Midship balconies on Baja are BC.

What size are the chairs? Lounge chairs or regular chairs? We have a BB category room

They're regular chairs with a back that reclines a little. If you really want a lounge chair your cabin steward can steal one for you and put it out there, but it's a tight squeeze unless you are on Caribe or at the stern where the balconies are bigger.
