Cayman Update

Just wanted to share this website I found. It gives updates on the Island.

Just scroll down to the islands and choose Caymans.

My carnival rep told me no change has been made to our cruise next week. We leave out of Tampa on Sat. and should be in Cayman's on the 20th. With all the damage they have received I just does not make sense for her to tell me that. I even checked Celebrity's website. Their weather update still shows a boat coming in to Cayman this week.

Where else would Carnival go if this Island is out for us? We already have Cozumel on our trip. I need to start looking at alternative excursions if this happens.

I am going in November, and wondering if the island will be ready by then!
Check out the community board. There is a Cayman update on there. It deosn't sound good at all.

I just wonder how the reef is after Ivan. I am sure the diving will not be very good at this time.

If you go to the cruise addicts web site and look under destinations cayman islands, you will see an extensive update as to what the situation is there, it sounds to me that there will not be any cruise ships into St Georges for quite awhile, this info is posted from someone on the Island, it is worth a read

Also, check out the thread on this forum Capt. Marvin. There is a note directly from him. Sounds more promising than other reports.

Costa Maya, St Maartin or the infamous "day at sea" are options that we had to experience due to damage or existing huricanes. I try not to sweat the small stuff, being on the ship is my priority. :)
