CC class versus veranda staterooms

As I look at the square footage of the CC class, it does not appear to be much bigger than the veranda staterooms. Can I get your opinions on why I should consider the CC class for the additional money? On some posts, I get the feeling they are a better deal than a Sky suite. I'm having a hard time deciding.... thanks for input.

CC class was originally brought in to perk up some cabins that had "Problems" maybe a poor location or traffic overhead or something like that. It doesn't apply much any more to the M class but watch for deck overhead your particular room. Same applys to Century Class I believe. The Zenith of course is finished in April and that was the ship that started the CC. Noise overhead from the pool deck.
The things you get are neat but you are correct in room size so if you get a good price go for it if not I doubt you would miss anything.
Wee appies everyday are nice and the upgraded towels, flowers etc but $$$'?? I don't think so personally.

Gwenn,

You have asked a question about whether the price difference "is worth it". That one is nearly impossbile to answer since what is worth it to me may be a terrible waste for you. But, for what it is worth, here is my take:

Sky Suites are about 20% larger, including a larger balcony, than either a veranda or CC stateroom. The bathrooms are twice as large as a veranda or CC room, and include a tub with a shower. Additionally, they come with perks that include butler service, nightly canapes, afternoon tea service, priority boarding, welcome aboard champagne, priority disembarkation, and all of the perks of CC class.

Most of the CC staterooms (but there are some exceptions) are the same size as the veranda cabins, but on higher decks in most cases. They are the old category 1A cabins. They come with fresh flowers and fruit, welcome aboard champagne, upgraded towells, bedding, and pillows, a set of cabin binoculars, an upgraded breakfast menu, and nightly canapes.

So, there are definite differences between what the various cabin categories include. I have sailed in all three and have had a great time in all three. Which I book depends on many factors, like what kind of deal I can get at the time.

But, whether the price difference is worht it to you or not is entirely
a personal matter. You will have a fabulous cruise no matter what you
do.

Thanks for the input. I have been on veranda before, and now I'm booked on Sky suite, but wondered what the big attraction is for the CC. Certainly I will have a great time however I go. I could easily take whatever cabin is offered myself as long as I get to cruise.

We were in a CC cabin last year and the only real difference is as was mentioned above was a small vase of flowers the first day of our cruise. Other than a few small perks such as snacks around 3:00pm (like you really need them) and upgraded soaps and shampoos there is no real difference. The size of the CC cabins was the same as balcony cabins. The question of whether it is worth it is a very subjective question, but for me I would say maybe it is worth $50 more pp than a regular balcony, but no more than that. The CC class was started a few years ago and certain balcony cabins were just renamed CC class.

On M class ships, it seems to me that CC rooms are 191 sq ft plus balcony, while 2As 2Bs and 2Cs are 170 sq ft plus balcony. Difference is in the length of the room. Widths are the same; that is, just shy of nine feet. The extra length can accommodate a sofa, which we like instead of the "easy chair" in 2A, 2B, and 2C. We like the CC benefits including dedicated processing line at boarding and the padded furniture on the balcony. On an M class ship, we have also had a Sky Suite. It was on Deck 6. It gave us more square feet many of which were in the bathroom to accommodate the tub/shower combo which isn't important to us. The balcony in most of the SSs on Deck 6 is quite narrow. Perhaps you are booked in an SS that has one of the larger balconies and that doesn't look onto the orange lifeboats which rise from the deck below. We prefer the shape of CC and locations of many CCs on M class and don't expect to book SS again. We didn't know what use to make of the butler. We have been quite happy with our CC attendants.

This is my first time posting on cruise addicts but not my first time online in a cruise forum.

What I haven't seen posted here is information about the AFT CCs on the "M" Class ships. The cabins are the same size as those CCs on the side of the ship but the AFT CC balconies can be up to 200 sq ft. Although this doesn't increase the size of the cabin itself, it sure adds to the cruising experience (especially on longer cruises).
Most of the time you can find CC class cabins that are about the same price as regular balcony cabins (even those in the AFT).

Have a wonderful cruise in your Sky Suite, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself.
