okay how do you get the ooglys off all the fan blades,do those fan brooms work. I have been standing on a chair and they wont (the dust) all come off, guess I will just take the blades off again and wash in warm water and soap.

I use a long handled duster. I shake it first to build the static and then swipe it across the blades. About once a year I wash them with a damp soapy cloth.

Edited to add: I don't take off the blades because I don't want to risk them not being balanced when I put them back on.

Guess I will have to put one on my Christmas list,we have 4 fans the one that is bothersome is the bedroom fan,I have to stand on bed,I can get the underblades but the top blades trying to hold the blade, clean it and not fall of the bed is the problem.

=yeah I do the damp cloth so the dust doesn't fall on the bed. But you could remove comforter/spread and when you are planning on stripping the sheets, dust the blades BEFORE stripping the bed so the dust settles on the sheets...then take them off and wash them...it's a thought.

I wash mine with a fairly wet cloth. I'll stand on the kitchen chairs to do it. Taking the blades off seems like more trouble than it's worth.

DO NOT TAKE THE BLADES OFF

If you did it before and didn't have balance problem you were just lucky.
Clean em with your fav cleaner standing on your head if you must :)
And then wax em.. frequent dusting after that is a breeze.
