Celebrity Cruises is canceling one cruise on Infinity to replace the starboard thrust bearing in the ship's propulsion system. The ship must enter drydock to replace the bearing, which will result in the cancellation of its March 27 sailing.

I just got a call from Celebrity about this. Fortunately our agency only had one booking on this sailing.

Celebrity is fully refunding all money back to the passengers and giving them a 100% future cruise credit. All the money back PLUS a free cruise, but still what a disappointment :(

Not sure if they are doing anything with air reservations that have booked separately. =huh Fortunately our passengers had booked cruise air.

I quit sailing the Infinty after two of my cruises were affected. Infact, I sailing the Century class of ships rather than Millie class partly due to the ungoing unpredictible nature of the Mille class of ships. Nothing is werse than have a long term voyage cancelled or dates changes that affect your ability to cruise or make airline plans difficult or very expensive.

=yeah the Millie class ships have had their share of problems. Its a shame too because Infinity is a beautiful ship.

Currently packing for a weeklong free Constellation cruise due to being cancelled off the Millie last Spring Break. Last year we learned of the cancellation approx 2 weeks before sailing. After a weekend of struggles found a reasonable price for the Carnival Legend and had fun. I am posting this becasue of the question about airfare booked separate from the cruise line. Celebrity gave us a $100pp onboard credit to basically counter the airline's change fees.

We have been bumped off a Summit Cruise and left the Infinity in Accapulco whn the pods acted up again. We were treated pretty fair back then but now....you get a FREE cruise. Why wouldn't you book with them if you have the time and are not held to a schedule. It's like going to Vegas. If you loose though you still get to cruise. It's better than Vegas =twocents

We were cancelled on this cruise. Had arrangements made in Waikiki for a week after the cruise so we took the refund and booked short notice on the Pride of Aloha. Hawaii was wonderful especially the 10 days we stayed in Waikiki. The pride of Aloha was another story but a wake up call like that reminds you why you choose Celebrity. We have since booked the Millineum Mar.19 and Mar.26 B2B for 2006. It will be good return to an "M" Class vessel or any Celebrity vessel again.
