Celebrity Century Vibration?

Hi! I'm new to this site. My friend & I are booking the Celebrity Century for April, 2003 to the Eastern Carib. Neither of us has sailed with Celebrity previously, but we have been on other lines.
My concern is that at this site or epinions I've read more then a few comments about vibration on the Century and my friend does get seasick. Any feedback? The cabin category we are looking at is 6 or 7 midship outside, which is on the lowest or 2nd lowest passenger deck?

We are flying in the night before to Ft. Lauderdale. Any suggestions for a clean & restful affordable hotel? Thanks much.

We have sailed on the Century and the only time you feel a slight vibration is in the dining room, which is located at the rear of the ship right above the engine/ prop area. It is really nothing to worry about. Our room was located at the back of the ship two decks higher and we hardly noticed it. Where your room is you won't feel a thing.
Have a fun trip I hope this helped.

The vibration problem on the Century class ships (Century, Mercury and Galaxy) is noticeable only at the back of the ships, and only when pulling into and out of port, and it very short in duration. It should not cause any discomfort for anyone prone to seasickness.

HI POLO!!

I agree with the previous posts...there is very little vibration on Century. I think that a lot of pax get confused as Century usually pulls out of port at dinner time. When the stern thrusters are deployed to move away from the dock there is a good vibration in the dining room that is quite noticable. This only lasts a little while while the ship is manuvering sideways.

Y:eek:u will love the Century and Celebrity!!

I don't think it's something to worry about unless you have an inside cabin all the way aft on the continentel deck.

We've sailed Century twice, and all the classes on Celeb, and Century is our favorite Celebrity ship.

The Century is a wonderful ship and the cabin location you have will be fine. No vibration problems except as mentioned above and that is minimal. You have nothing to worry about, go and enjoy the beautiful ship.

I loved the century. We were in a family room on deck 8. And we did feel the vibrations when pulling in to ports in the AM. We viewed that as our wake up call if we weren't already up and moving! We had late dinner so we didn't notice it in the dining room, except once....and it wasn't a problem then either.

I get motion sickness as well. It's not that kinds of movement. It didn't bother me in the least and it's only for a very short duration.

Have a great time.
