Celebrity cruises

I am wondering about recent experiences on Celebrity Cruises. I always loved Royal Caribbean but have we cruised last Easter on the Adventurer and it was very disappointing in terms of food quality and service. We have been on Carnival, Princess and Norwegian in the past few years and they seem to have caught up with and/or passed RCL. We booked the Celebrity Summit for March 26th and have always heard good thing s about Celebrity. Any recent experience/opinions?

I have not taken Rccl since 2003 main reason was the quality of food, however I am trying them again next month. We did the Solitice last year and was not happy about the food in the mdr, however the ship was great and I will sail on her again. For MDR I perfer either Princess or Costa, but there is many things to consider when taking a cruise.

Our last two =X= cruise Solstice in March and Mercury in Oct were just fine.
It's been too long ago to compare to RCCL directly but although the menus have changed over the years they are still ahead of what I remember.
Each ship is different as is each week or so it seems. Never been on the Summit but the M class is very nice and our favorite bigger ship size.

The Merc was kinda like going back a bit and even though we have not been cruising all that long brought back some memories and quickly became a favorite. Had what we needed and we didn't have to take a lunch to get there all the time. :)

I've been on Celebrity & the Summit several times, with our last cruise in May 09 to Alaska on the Millienium. In May 2008, we cruised Hawaii on the Radiance of the Seas. Great cruise, but we prefer Celebrity over RCCL. The food is still a bit above RCCL, but the service has always been better than RCCL & Princess to us. Our first cruise was on the Mercury in 1998, and we were sold on Celebrity then. I think the quality of food has "slipped" since our cruise then. We haven't eaten in any of Celebrity's Specialty restraunts, but everyone seems to enjoy their experiences eating in them.

I am a Diamond C&L cruiser on Royal Caribbean, an Elite Captains Club member on Celebrity...and a "veteran" of five other cruise lines as well including multiple cruises on Princess, Carnival and Oceania...

I really like Royal Caribbean though it's the ship and amenities that make it stand out though the food is passable and the service good...

Our service on the Mariner in January surpassed the service on the Sapphire Princess the January before and I did not think the food was altogether ifferent on the two...The Mariner was easily the nicer ship...

However, if I were cruising strictly for food and service, I have two choices that stand above and beyond the rest: Celebrity and Oceania...

Oceania's food is flat out outstanding and the service very good...
But the price is considerably higher...
The service and the specialty restaurants restaurants, IMHO, even surpass the same on Oceania making Celebrity, by far, the best value in the market...

Among the things that sets Celebrity apart is the space-to-passenger and crew-to-passenger ratios--which are much better than what you see on RCI, much, much better than Princess...and, of course, blow Carnival out of the water...

I will likely never book another Carnival cruise after my overcrowded, poor service experience in July 2007...and my Princess cruise last January will likely not have me running back to Princess...

I will cruise with Royal Caribbean due to them having the clearly best ship in our local market and due to their innovative ships...I will cruise with Oceania (and likely try Azamara at some point) for the smaller ship luxury experience...but, for the best of all worlds, Celebrity is always my first choice when looking for a cruise...

yes thats well, we may not believe those popular service providers some times. That may be because of higher expectations on the somebody whome we think good
