Celebrity dress code

This will be my fourth cruise. NCL Seaward in the early 90's and RCCL in 2001 and 2003.
Celebrity's site mentions two formal and two "informal" ( I guess that is the same as semi-formal), nights. Sounds like two suits and two sport jackets to me.
On the other cruises I have taken, formal meant suits or a tux and semi-formal included dress slacks and a button down shirt, or a dressy sweater etc.
Is this cruise line less casual than Royal Caribbean? I DON'T expect cut-offs, flip flops and athletic tee shirts at dinner! Am I correct with my suit-sport jacket combos mentioned earlier? HELP!!!

From Celebrity's website:
A gentleman's choice for casual nights includes a sport shirt and slacks, while women will be comfortable in a pants suit, skirt and blouse, or casual dress.

On informal nights, men are requested to wear a jacket, shirt and tie, while women may want to wear a suit or dress.

For the formal nights, including the Captain's Welcome Aboard Cocktail Party, dinner on the second night, and the Captain's Farewell Dinner held the next-to-last night of the cruise; both men and women may prefer more dressy attire, such as an evening gown for women and a tuxedo or dress suit for men.

The dressy sweater would be appropriate for casual night.

My husband wears his tux for formal, his suit for informal, and sports jacket and slacks for casual.

There a lot of tuxes worn on Celebrity which look very nice :)
My hubby wears a black suit for formal and a jacket and dress pants for informal.
Casual pants for casual :lol
Edited to say we have taken several Celebrity cruises but only one 4 day RCCL so I can't really give you a fair comparison of the two. On saying that I'd say RCCL was slightly more relaxed than Celebrity but as I say we only took a 4 day cruise with them. :)

The above post about Celebrity dress code says it all as far as what to wear. I just wanted to add that no Celebrity is not less formal than RCCL it is actually more.

Here's the great thing about wearing a tux, especially if there are two formal nights. You can rent the tux, shirts, tie, and shoes and they will be in your cabin or delivered before the first formal night. So you don't have to pack any of that stuff. The rental fees are reasonable and if there's a loose button or something like that the room steward can help (as happened with us).

Here's the second great thing. No matter what shape or size men are in, they invariably look GREAT in a tux. And when most of the men are wearing tuxes and most of the women dress up it's almost like being in a Bond movie!

Here's the third great thing. No one will yell at you if you don't wear a tux, but you'll feel right at home if you do.

Sailboat, well said, I agree, agree, agree. So nice not to have to pack a suit, just the sports coat for informal (wish they would call in semi-formal). Cruiseline Formal Wear is great and if you call them they will help you with measurements. The tux shop we went to did such a bad job of measuring hubby, it was obviously for someone 6 inches taller than he is. But CFW helped me over the phone, it fit perfectly, and I keep the measurements on my computer and use them every year.

We buy a couple of vest sets with matching ties, so we don't have to order that and look like everyone else and we just pack those for a subtle change each formal night.
