Hello

My Wife and I are looking at the Galaxy in 2009 for our first cruise. I have a couple of questions.

We are looking at an Ocean view Stateroom on the Vista Deck. Do any of them have blocked views? I have heard that fore is better than aft, is this true?

What day trips would you recommend at the various ports?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hey Welcome.

I've no personal experience with that ship. I'll see if I can dig up an answer for you....

There are four of us taking in our group.....taking the Galaxy on Jan 9th out of San Juan on the southern route. We have not been on the galaxy before but pricing right now is very affordable. Be sure to ask your travel agent when considering a room or call Celebrity direct and they will let you know about any room you are considering prior to booking. We booked through Vacations to Go, but you can book directly through Celebrity and get the same deal. Much more affordable than priceline or travelocity.

This will be our third Celebrity cruise (previously sailed on Norweign and Royal Carribbean). We love Celebrity the best but would not recommend for families....this more of a older 40-up mainly couples and singles with a little more attention to catering to you. We love Celebrity.

Somebody made me go on several trips and take a cruise too. Never got back.

Contacting the line or using a good TA is good advice.
Vista deck is clear sailing view from all cabins. Lifeboats are down a deck or two....

As far as fore or aft goes if you are concerned with movement. The further from midship either way is exactly the same. There is no benefit on this class of ship as there are no true aft cabins (across the back) as there are on some of the fleet. (M class)
