Hi, Everyone
My wife and I will be cruising on the Infinity to South America (Two 14 night back-to-back cruises from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso and Valparaiso to Ft. Lauderdale on March 1. We are in an inside cabin on deck 9, the Sun Deck.

We have never been on any Celebrity ships and would love some comments and pointers about what we can expect and should look out for.

Thanks so much in advance.

First let me welcome you to the site. Second let me tell you that the Infinity is our favorite M class ship and we have spent some time aboard. (Martini bar comes to mind) I'm sure you will find =X= just fine.

3 rd. You asked about =X= and the ship so here goes. It has consistently had a "Happy" crew and things go pretty well on her all the time. It will have been in for drydock prior to your cruise so it should be in fine shape. It did need some perking up when we last sailed in August. Nothing serious just minor things that they needed time to do rather than trying to do at sea.

Deck nine does have some issues regarding noise from overhead so the first thing I would do is compare the floor plan above to where your inside located below. Chairs and items get moved around early and late in the dining areas and seating etc. If this is an issue or could be one consider changing. 4 weeks is a long time to be in a spot that you may find unsuitable.
Of course deck 9 puts you closer to the resort deck and buffet and will save you time moving about.
When we travel inside we like to be really close to the midship elevators for that reason also. You don't mention your cruising experience so I might mention ship motion higher is often great also say than being down on deck two (continental) and an inside is an inside right?

Enjoy your planning and ask away with anything else you might want to know. I may be able to help and there are a lot of others that can chip in also.

I know for sure you will love the Canal. Been through on the Infinity and you can touch the sides of the locks....

Thanks so much for your valuable comments. Our cabin is directly below the spa, so hopefully there won't be much noise. In your comments, were you saying that the higher up to more the movement of the ship is noticeable?

Thanks again and have a wonderful holiday season.

Yep... I've been on the Infinity when she was rocking a rolling. The lower down in a ship the less you feel all that stuff. IF you run into it that is. You will be in the open Pacific for some of your journey so my thinking was if you are inside I might consider being lower in the ship for a better chance of a smoother ride if things did get rough. The ship generally reacts well in weather it was just something to think about that's all.

Have a great trip but I do have a question. For your first trip, why would you choose an inside cabin, let alone for 28 days? That seems to me to be a long time without looking out.
