We will be sailing on the Galaxy on September 16 from Civitaavecchia . If there is anyone who has taken a Med cruise with Celebrity can you answer the following questions for me...........

1}

What time do they let you board the ship.....REAL TIME that is. They usually tell you 2:00PM for the ships that leave out of Florida but you can board around 11AM and lunch is served at noon. So, need to know what the REAL TIME is.

2}

Will they be serving lunch when you get on the ship?

3}

If the ship sails at 7:00PM what do they do about dinner the first night. Do they have two seatings or do they just serve a buffet and you eat when you want?

Any help with these questions will be appreciated. I always find that when I call Celebrity they can never give me the correct answers to my questions. Need to get the answers from the experts on the boards!

Many thanks

Hi Marion,

Our Celebrity Med cruise was aboard the Millennium, however the boarding procedures are similar across the fleet. Early boarding is really depedent upon what time the debarkation process is completed, but this is usually about 10:00A. Early boarding will customarily begin around 11:00A with cabins being ready for occupation about 1:00P. Your champaign greeting can be followed by lunch and a tour of the ship while waiting to stow your carry on bag in your cabin.

The main variable will be the boat drill, which will be scheduled for a time when nearly everyone will be aboard, and not to interfere with the evening meal hours, or probably about 5:00P. The 7:00P sailing means that early seating passengers will be at dinner for sail away, but if you are on the early shift you will have many more interesting sail aways coming.

You are in for a great cruise with an outstanding itinerary and excellent and considerate service. Hope you enjoy your Med cruise as much as we did.
