I have been trying to use the Celebrity site to reserve shore excursions for the 10/18/02 cruise. I can see the ones available, but when i go to the area to actually reserve them, I get a message that says tours are not available. Do they open the site for such reservations closer to the cruise? Any ideas? Thanks,....

Lots of people have this problem. Sometimes it comes and goes. I'd suggest trying about once a week until it decides to work for you. Sorry I'm not any more help.

I think excursions are available online 60 days in advance of your sailing. We went through this when we were trying to book our excursions for our Millennium cruise last December. Doing things online is a big advantage. From what I understand, some of the more popular excursions sell out fast once everyone boards the ship.

I worked quite well for us and I'm sure we were more than 60 days out when I used it. but maybe not. Your booking number correct??

Jhagen - I used the online method way before our 60 days and had no problem - you should be able to pull up the excursions by site by browsing (even before trying to buy them by entering in to the category of "purchase." Once you decide to buy, you need a booking number. Note when I originally booked via Expedia, their booking number was not the booking number celebrity needs - had to call them for it. When we switched our arrangements over to Lori Cunningham, the number she gave us was the booking no. Once you get into the purchase area, not only will you see the tours and can pull them up, you will be able to see the start times. Good luck - keep trying

We are on the October 11 sailing of Galaxy, and have been trying for several weeks to book some excursions with no luck. I contacted Celebrity and received an e-mail from them stating that they are updating the pricing information for excursions that will be taken after October 1, 2002. They further advised that the excursions should be available to book sometime this month, so I guess we just have to continue to check the site.

I had sent an email to them back when I first booked our January-February cruise. There reply was that they post them seasonally and that the Fall/Winter would be posted in July/August.

Today I noticed that they have updated the site and even I can book for January/February 2003.

Galaxy Excursions

TomB: You should now be able to book excursions online. We 're on a 11/22 sailing and they just became available. Be advised that they are still modifying options so you may want to check every so often for new items.

Re: Galaxy Excursions

Janetd--Thanks. I tried again last evening (Tuesday) but continued to get the message that stated "No shore excursions available for this port." I'll try again tonight!

Re: Galaxy Excursions

isn't it better to get a group together and book with one of the local tour guides as far as cost?? We were not going to do any excursions this cruise what with them being soooo expensive and we lose alot in turning it into USfunds in the first place!

Re: Infinity Excursions

Definitely advantages to booking online. Just returned from the Century and due to a medical evacuation they had to change our port schedule- behind one day. Of course that ment all the excursions had to be rescheduled- and one of them-- the dolphin swim in Ocho Rios, of course has very limited availability. Since I had booked online, I was still able to participate-- but they had to cancel all others that had booded onboard. I believe this also happened with a couple of other excursions. Sooo they difinitely honor the online bookings first!
