Cirque du Solei "elements" were present in a couple of the evening shows on Connie last week. Clearly they were added in, and didn't necessarily enhance the content of the rest of the evening's entertainment, but were enjoyable in their own right.

On another note: there has been some bad press about the lack luster quality of the after dinner shows aboard Celebrity. Lemme tell ya, The new show they debuted on Constellation last week was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Everyone I talked to was totally blown away by the quality of the show! The costumes and singing were better than anything else afloat! One of the singers was nearly drowned out by the wild cheering and applause before he could finish his piece, which was only half way through the production. You could almost hear jaws hitting the floor for the stunning costuming on one of the later pieces too. If this is any indication of what is to come, they will be receiving very good press!!!

My only regret is that we had late seating and missed the first showing. I would have skipped dinner to be able to watch that show twice. Remember you heard it here first!

Celeb is in the middle of the most exciting time of it's history! They are ecstatic over some coming changes in the product line. I can't tell you-hint-if you look closely at/in some of the ships you will see some major differences being tested out and over the next year watch out for some WOW

Come on Barry - we won't be cruising until fall 2005 (want to do the westbound transatlantic with a Med cruise back to back) - let us know what you know!

We just returned from a Med cruise on the Millennium and had a similar experience to Urbanian's. There was a flying act that used ropes suspended from the show room cieling that was really a great show. They blocked off some seats in the first couple rows of showroom seats for safety reasons, and the act actually needed the space. There was also a ballet dance couple that performed an act with such beauty and agility that they brought on a standing ovation. Both of these acts were in addition to an excellent singing and dancing troup, and were nicely integrated into the usual show routine. The quality and style of the entertainment could indicate an influence from the Cirque du Solei. There were some real show stoppers.

I’m guessing there will be Cirque du Solei elements showing up on most Celebrity ships now that they have a partnership on.

Otherwise, the way the new show on Constellation was offered, the inference was that each new show will be ship specific. They don’t want you to get bored with the same-o, same-o, every time you get on a different Celebrity ship.

Trust me on this: If what we saw on Connie was any indication of the direction Celebrity is going, you won’t be disappointed!
