My experience with Celebrity has been:
1) their food is great
2) I've enjoyed their art collections
3) the way the ships are designed, you never feel crowded in public areas
4) they almost never use the public address system - no annoying announcements
5) passengers are low key - haven't seen any rowdies
6) the service for the most part is excellent
7) Celebrity should improve the entertainment in their lounges

Celebrity tends to be a bit more upscale. There are no nagging PA announcements. The new perks such as a glass of champagne on boarding and iced towels when reboarding after a hot port (and many others) are great. The service is "European style" [read formal] as opposed to casual friendly. And the suites and their perks are the best!

1) They have an excellent reputation for their food. Specialty restaurant is worth $25pp fee.
2) I did not like the majority of their art collections but know others may disagree.
3) The way the ships are designed, you never feel crowded in public areas- plenty of public lounges, Notes & Words on Millennium Class ships, great spas & gyms
4) They almost never use the public address system - no annoying announcements
5) Passengers are low key - haven't seen any rowdies- they treat all passengers as adults and respect their individual tastes.
6) The service for the most part is excellent including Wine Stewards, Social Hostess (if that category of employee still exists), camp counselors have a degree. They are not there to entertain but to serve your needs well.
7) Celebrity should improve the entertainment in their lounges.
8) New Conceriege amenities: welcome aboard champagne or OJ, allowing one to board before all staterooms are prepared, Chilled water & Ice buckets filled twice a day, specialty perks for past cruisers (Capt. Club membership is now free).
9) Great itineraries with most full day at port i.e. 8-5 p.m.
10) Average cabin is nice size with mini-fridge, hair dryer & in-room safe.
All of this for a very competitive low price.

Agree with most, but the thing I agree with the most is to go to the review section and read the reviews. I have posted several and you will get the best feel by the reviews.

What type of cruiser are you? What do you like and dislike? Those are the important quesitons.

Having just returned last week from the Millennium, 13 nights-Mediterranean and having cruised on six different cruise lines (Premier, Norwegian, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity), I can add a little...

Overall, I place Celebrity at the head of the class...
The food and service is excellent, the ships (at oleast the Millennium and its sisters) are incredibly well laid out...Very rarely were we even aware that there were 2300 passengers on board--Dining room seating was nowhere near as cramped as on, say, Carnival Elation (a ship I actually like quite a bit)...There was never any crowd at the shows which the showroom couldn't amply handle...Elevators were only a bit difficult at midship when folks were returning from tender ports and a tender would arrive...Lots of virtually private areas to hang out on the ship, even on "at sea" days...

The ship provided some programs we haven't seen much on other lines...like "enrichment lectures"...They actually had 4 guest speakers on board including the very popular Ike Pappas, veteran CBS newsman famed for his coverage of the JFK Assassination...

The overall atmosphere was very refined, dignified...Everything was handled with a touch of class not seen on other lines...

Even though traditional with dining room seating, there were loads of additional choices...including Casual Dining sit down restaurant, the Olympic Dining Room--extremely elegant restaurant duplicated from the Titanic and a nightly Sushi Bar from 6-10 each night that was absolutely excellent...Also, Ice Cream available daily (I'm not sure of the hours, but it seemed to be there whenever I wanted it)...

The ships have an outstanding ratio of balconies and suites...

The itineraries are excellent...Ours started and ended in different ports allowing for less backtracking and more ports in between...

Yes, very few blaring announcements...
