CelebrityCaptain Club honors Royal Car Crown and Anchor?

I was just wondering whether Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor is honored by Celebrity Captains Club? I have been on 2 RCC cruises and joined the Crown and Anchor Club. I will be going on my first Celebrity cruise (Century 6/21/03), and expect to then join their Captains Club but was wondering whether they would honor at this time my past cruises with Royal Caribbean?
Thanks, Andi

To my knowledge the Celebrity only cruisers can't join Crown & Anchor, so I would guess that RCCL only cruisers couldn't join the Captain's Club...

I think you'll have to wait until you go on the Century later this month...Have a great cruise!

Re: Celebrity Captain Club honors Royal Car Crown and Anchor?

The answer, as of right now is no...
The two cruise lines' "clubs" are operated as completely separate entities and neither honbors cruises with the other (Even though the two lines are under common ownership)...

Up until three days ago, Celebrity also required a one-time only "Membership Fee" of $35...
They just got rid of this and it has many longtime Celebrity enthusiasts concerned...They seem to have a fear that the "exclusivity" of their CC membership is a thing of the past and that the benefit will soon be decreased...AND they seem to have a fear of exactly what you've asked about--that the Celebrity CC will soon start giving credit to past Royal Caribbean cruisers...

I, personally, wouldn't mind...My combined totals would only increase my standing in both clubs...I figure I've enriched the corporation over the years by cruising on both and that should be recognized by the combined entities...rather than being recognized as somewhat of a neophyte on both...

But, until they institute that change, if they ever do, the answer is no...

As of now, they are still different programs. We are members of both. Capt. Club has had some pretty good benefits, and I hope witht he changes, that will still be true. I really don't care that they eliminated the fee, I certainly have alread got full benefit from it... and I got a $50 onboard credit coupon for our next cruise which was intended as compensation to those of us who paid. Even though they are under the same family, they are operated as seperate lines, and I don't anticipate they will combine the programs. But if they change their minds and do, it doesn't change how I feel about our favorite line, Celebrity.

Hooked, do I understand you correcly? You received membership in the Crown & Anchor automatically after 1 Celebrity cruise? Also you are a mamber of the Captain's Club. Did you apply for that or did that just happen automatically too?

Spender I had to join CC. Like I said in the above post after sailing on the Galaxy (Celebrity) I was automatically made a Crown & Anchor member. I received my member # and, the quarterly magazine/news letter.

That's very interesting but contrary to all the other information. Although I've never sailed 'd RCCL I'd be happy to be a C&A member.

Hooked: How did that happen. We are going on our 10th Celebrity cruise this August and we are members of the Captain's Club, and I've never received anything about the Crown and Anchor. How did this happen?

There seems to be some confusion and inconsistency on the part of RCI regarding Hooked's entry into the C & A after Galaxy. I believe that the Club people probably just made a mistake because they handle both Celebrity and RCCL programs. I had called regarding my C & A membership just last month. The repsanswer the phone "Crown and Anchor" or "Capt. Club" depending which phone extension the call comes in on. We began discussing, and as she was helping me with my C & A question, she noted that I had several Celebrity sailings and was booked on a Galaxy cruise in just a few weeks. So, both Clubs have access to the information from both. I asked this rep about counting one toward the other, and she informed me that "NO" they didn't combine totals at this time, but they were certainly promoting both lines, and that I could book either line while I was onboard Galaxy (I already knew that, because I've done it before).

Maybe they knew how special we all think Hooked is, and they gave a special dispensation, or maybe it was a special promotion, or maybe it was just a mistake? I would be interested to know how many voyages they show credited to Hooked's C & A account... LOL!
