Century vs Constellation

Hi
We sailed the Caribbean last year on the Constellation, which we loved! We are considering booking the Century for Western Car. Will we be disappointed with the ship after the newer one? Has anyone been on both to make a comparison? My other choices are Royal Caribbean or Princess. We would have a balcony room on all three.

Thanks for the help.

We sailed on the Century not too long after being on the Constellation. I doubt that you will be disappointed with the Century. Yes it is older and smaller but you will still enjoy the same food and friendly staff. Some of the main differences you will find are minor such as not as many lounges, charge for the thelassotherapy pool and a smaller gym. Just remember that it is a different class ship. I wouldn't hesitate to sail on her again.

We've been on Century, Galaxy, Mercury, Infinity, and Summit. We love the newer ships for all they have to offer (especially the wide open spaces), but I still have a special place in my heart for the Century. Specifically, I like the lower level dining room tables with banquettes for two. Also, there's nothing like the Sports Deck Sky suites. It's a short hall - so no comotion outside, and you're right there at the sun deck whenever you want it. Overall, we believe Century has a very classic feel.

HI TRACY,

The century is special...somehow she has a lot of class. She fits like a well worn loafer but the loafer is a Gucci, none the less. The crew on the Century says that their accomadations are better than on any other ship and that is the reason everyone is so relaxed and congenial. Most pax swear that the food is better on the Century...go figure?? Whatever it is...and I don' think that anyone can really put their finger on it...the Century is one of the most loved ships anywhere.

ROSS,
I couldn't have said it better myself :thumb it is a special ship, it is in very good condition, the service is top notch and the cabins are very nice. Everything is clean and kept up, no need to worry if it looks old or run down in any way, because it doesn't!

Hi, I read your reply to the email in reference to the Century Suites on the Sports Deck. I had wondered if it was a quiet place to be due to the small amount of rooms there. I know there is the Sky Bar located down the Hall, but wondered if the noise could be heard in the halls or the rooms. Also, being up so high, is the sway of the ship felt more? Thanks for any help you can give.

Annecj,

Actually, the Century has *more* lounges than the Constellation. The Connie has Michael's, Rendezvous, top observation lounge, and that's about it. I feel that the area above the Rendezvous feels like the Rendezvous and the overlook to the Rendezvous connects it to the Rendezvous. Century has all of those lounges plus the Crystal lounge in the back, that's a lounge I missed a lot when sailing the Constellation. There's more places to dance on the Century.

I'll take the Century. It's individual, Connie is just like the other Millennium ships. Century has more intimate areas, darker and richer appointments, arguably Celebrity's most elegant dining room, and I think she's a much more stylish ship and more inviting, romantic, and charming. The thellasotherapy pool on the Century ships is a different experience than the Millennium ships. It is more private, the jets are strong, the experience much more special and relaxing. By contrast, the thellasotherapy pool on the Constellation feels like a public area, which it is. I like the Century ships alot more than the Millennium ships.
