I heard that Century charges to watch movies. Is this true? Also, I have read so many reviews about how bad the entertainment and nightlife is on board. What is the Century doing about this? I travel to Western Carib. in August for a 1st cruise experience. I hope it will be worth it on Century.

tyhey charge for in room movies on your TV. There is no charge for their daily movies in the theater. We have enjoyed all the celebrity ships that we have been on .

If you are not sure that you will ,cancel and change cruise lines.

I have sailed on the Century Eastern, and Western she is an incredable ship. Probably the best service, and food than any other single ship. The entertainment is very enjoyable, Oh and yes there is a night life on board.

I agree with BP is you are not sure than cancel...

Thanks for your opinions. I'm not cancelling. Just looking for opinions. Every cruise line out there someone has something negative to say. I won't cancel for that. Just looking for advice.

One of the nicest ships sailing :thumb We love cruising on the Century and there is always plenty of night life and the entertainment is just fine. Some people just like to nit pick instead of enjoying the fact that they are on a wonderful cruise in the middle of the ocean. It doesn't get better than that.I go on a cruise to get away from all the stress and just unwind, if you go with a positive attitude I think you will really enjoy the Century. Don't let the neg. comments worry you.And try the thalassotherepy pool it is wonderful. There is a charge to use it but you can use it all day.

EDITED to add: There are movies in the theater no charge and there are pay per view movies in your cabin like they have in a hotel.

Hooked,
That's not a bad idea :thumb my husband and I really like the Century. We like the size and the food and service is great. And we really do love the thalassotherepy pool on that class ship. We sailed on the Millie and while it was a good cruise we prefer the Century.I could go on and on about all the things we like, that's why it's just easier to say we love sailing on the Century and look forward to our next Century cruise :jump that way we don't bore some people with all our praises :lol

My favorite ship indeed! I hate answering questions like this, because the answer is not a clear yes or no. What does some one mean by no nightlife? Compared to what? They do have bars and dancing going on until around 2 in the morning on our cruises, but this person may be looking for some other kind of nightlife. I would bet the big new RCI ships are more to what this person is looking for. Maybe a Carnival cruise too. I think Celebrity is a fun ship, refined and perfect for us, but if someone asked me point blank if this is a night party cruise, I'd say no.

As for the Century, we originally had planned to do a back-to-back (E & W carib) on her next spring (March), but switched over to the CL@SS 10 day cruise so I could meet some of the folks here at C@. Next time we can go after that will be spring of 2006. Long way off! :)

Actually SS it will be a long time off for the Century on our part also. We are cruising on the Radiance this November, than the Mariner C@ddicts in 2005, for 2006 we really want to do a 10 Southern so that hopefully will be a Millie class ship. So not sure when we can get back to the Century, Unless we win the lottery, and we can cruise once a month. Later

Maybe next year we will be able to go back on the Century, my husband really wants to so maybe we will make it happen for us in 2005.

Hooked, a 10 day southern in 2006 is a possiblity for us to. It's that or a back to back or another C@ cruise.... Hmmm I really need to win a lotto, so many cruises, so few dollars to spend on them....

No the Century doesn't charge for movies, unless it is in your room. But the movie theatre doesn't cost a thing, in fact they also give you free popcorn as well (and it really good!) Don't change ships you'll have a great time on the Century! She's a beutifull ship.

Boy! Everyone seems to love Century. My girl friend and I are booked on Century departing on May 22, 2004 - it is a birthday gift for her.

We were on Mercury for an 8 day cruise which departed from San Francisco on March 13, 2004. We booked a Royal Suite, and my girl friend arrived with her back out and running a fever. As a result, we had several chats in our suite with the head housekeeper. She did four consecutative contracts on Century and raved about Century. She indicated that both the staff and pax just seemed to have a really great attitude which made Century special. Sure hope that is true and will find out in about 32 days!!
