We have booked several dive excursions in Grand Cayman for our Cruise in Sept. However, we got so caught up in booking GC stuff we kind of overlooked Cozumel in which we will spending and entire day, (only 1/2 day in GC) Any ideas on inexpensive activities to do in Cozumel? Sense we already are spending quite a bit in GC, at least quite a bit by my standards. We will be coming in on the Sensation, how far is a beach from the port? I haven't been able to find a lot of good info on Cozumel. Thanks

We rented a car for the day for ~$55 and drove the whole island. We also stopped at Mr. Sanchos which is a free beach. It only cost us some money for food and another $10 to rent a kayak there for 2 hours.

I mentioned that to my group and I think that idea will be a winner. Are there any places in Cozumel I need to be careful of? I guess there are good maps available?

Hi Jason,

I'd also recommend a cab to Chankanaab. Share a cab, $10 admission per person. All day snorkelling, beach, walking paths, botanical gardens, restaurant, bar, etc. It's beautiful and a blast!

If you decide to rent a car there aren't really any unsafe places as far as robberies and such but there aren't many paved roads. Mr. Sanchos is great and inexpensive. It is quiet and uncrowded. Chankanaab Park will cost more and will be very crowed. The pier is close to both places. Check out www.cozumelinsider.com.
