We always check out of the hotel after breakfast and head for the port arouind 11:00. Last few cruises we have been on board before noon. They will disemberk in groups. Since we usually are staying a day or so after ther crusie we're usually in the last of the groups.

I believe you were asking about the latest?? Depends on the port and the departure time of the ship -- but for an easy port like Fort Lauderdale for example, you should still be able to embark within an hour of departure time -- around 3:30-4:00.

For disembarkation -- that depends on the line and what your arrangements are. Assuming Princess -- they have the option of letting you carry all your bags off yourself; in that case, you could be off the ship as early as 8:00-8:30. But if they're handling your bags -- you need to go by their schedule -- they do it by groups depending on the time of your departure flight, or other arrangements -- usually in a range of around 8:30 - 10:00.

Not to be a black cloud or anything....just a heads up. My last couple cruises, customs held up disembarkation so long, that no one (not even VIPS) got on board before 1-2pm...and they didn't even BEGIN disembarkation (previous cruise) until after 10am.....both of these were at Port Everglades. We were on Code Orange (a typical day) and like Michael said, I was always used to strolling on board between 11-11:30am. Both cruises (one was Sept, the other Jan) I had to sit and cool my heels for several hours at the terminal. Not the lines fault....customs.

Yes, that is the typical experience. I was just pointing out to be prepared for possible custom hold ups in Port Everglades, so you won't be cranky if you have to wait to board.
