Checking in at Port of Miami

Hey all!
Sailing on Valor out of Miami in October, and I'm wondering how early it is okay to arrive at the port and get checked in and onboard? I will be staying in Miami the night before, so it's just a question of when to schedule my transportation from a nearby hotel. This is my second cruise but I can't, for some reason, remember what time we got to the port last time? I know we got there early and checking in and getting on board was a really smooth process, I like getting on there early even if I beat my luggage to my room and everything. How early will they let people on?

If you want to be first, arrive at 11am. Most likely you will not be able to board until 11:30am to noon. If you want to miss the crowd, arrive around 1:30pm.

We left our hotel at 11 and were in line by 11:30 and on the ship before noon. The lines were not bad at all...very short process for us when we were on the Valor.

Hi All,

I went on Valor in September and my experience was almost identical to Babushka's. We left the hotel at 11:00 and were on the ship around 12:00

Thanks,
JTC

Can you recommend some hotels around the Port of Miami?

About three blocks behind the camera is the Bayside Marketplace. To the right of the above picture is the free Metromover ...

Port of Miami Hotel - Embassy Suites

Hi,

I will be going out of the Port of Miami the end of March and want to book a hotel now for overnight. We will have four young
grandchildren with us and wondered if anyone knew about the Embassy Suites there. As you might imagine we want to be certain
we are in a "safe" area and we have not been on a cruise out of this port for over ten years so do not remember the area. Also if you know of another hotel we would appreciate your advice. Would like to have both airport shuttle and shuttle to cruise port from hotel if possible.
We realize it will probably will be very expensive at that time of year (spring break) so are looking at costs. Probably will need two rooms.
Thanks in advance.
