Hi everybody!

We are taking a cruise to the Caribbean for a family reunion. My wife and I were going to travel to China and Hong Kong but we cancelled our trip because of the SARS outbreak… although we still have our Chinese visas in our passports.
-Will that be a problem?
-Have you heard/seen someone having troubles (especially in the islands) because of this?
-Do they check you passports when you disembark at the islands?

Thanks very much for your help. Horatio.

The only place they would check your passports is when you board & depart the ship. You would leave them on the ship when you get off on any of the Caribbean islands. They might question it when you board, but I think your explanation would suffice. Princess is now asking all passengers if they have been to any of the high-risk areas and denying boarding if they have.

If your passport has not been stamped by China or one of the other countries involved, it should not be a problem. The visa just gives you access to enter the country, but without the stamp, if will show you have not been there yet.
You should not have any problems whatsoever visiting the Caribbean!
Have a great time!
