Make these at least one day ahead because of all the different layers. Keep covered in fridge. Sounds very involved, but they are SO GOOD. Nice for a special occasion. DS and his DW had a St. Pat's party and they requested these as I had served them at their rehearsal dinner-our family and her family are very Irish!
1 C sugar
1/2 C butter, softened
4 eggs
1 C flour
1/2 tsp salt
16 oz can Hershey's syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Mix in order. Spread in greased 9x12 pan. Bake 30 minutes at 350*. COOL COMPLETELY.
2 C confectioner sugar
1/2 C butter, softened
2 TBS creme de menthe
Mix together until smooth. Frost the cooled brownie layer. Chill.
Heat in saucepan: 1 C chocolate chips and 6 TBS butter. Melt, then cool down and pour on top of the chilled frosting layer. Chill completely. Cut into small squares-they are VERY RICH. I use a sharp knife and dip it in warm water to make cutting easier and cleaner.
ENJOY! :)
