Christmas/holiday cruise

We are taking Grandma and teen daughters on a cruise out of Galveston
for Christmas. This is our first cruise and our first trip away from
home for the holidays. I have a few questions:

If you have had Christmas on a ship, is it very festive? I want my
kids to still feel the spirit of the holiday. Will they have any
special holiday events? Basically, do they make it seem special?

What will the temperature be like on this trip? I have read the
weather reports for as far ahead as I can but I would like to know
what someone else has experienced. Cold on land may feel different
than cold at sea. Also, we will be in Cozumel and were considering
the horseback ride. I have read that the animals are worn out. Am I making
a mistake with this excursion? Thank you

I have posted this on another site. I am soory if you had to read it twice.

Christmas is very festive on cruise ships. I've done a couple myself. They start decorating the ships in early November, and they are very tastefully done. There's Christmas music, special events for the kiddies, and the crew/staff seems to be in the right frame of mind. Christmas dinner is very nice - they seem to go the extra mile for that meal. Not this year, but NEXT Christmas, I intend to be on a ship!

About the weather - I've found it to be about the same as any other time of year. The Caribbean is always nice and warm. The first day and evening on the ship may be a little cooler outside on decks, but the closer you get to the Caribbean, the nicer it is. (Sorry, I don't know about the horses.)

Merry Christmas!

Sounds to me like you are getting the pre holiday jitters..afraid that cruising will take away the christmas spirit.
Since we live up north and buddle up nice and warm--- a carribbean cruise will be totally off for us. Wearing shorts on Christmas=bah humbug--but Ill take a cruise during the seson any time. THe ships will be all decked out for the holiday and many people decorate their doors with wreaths etc to make their room festive. You can take a small tree..maybe lights around your mirriors. THe kids will have a great time and bet willeven forget that its christmas
